Prairie Réseau

In 2020 I collaborated with artist Craig David on The Elmwood Development project which involved the splitting, grinding, polishing, designing, and sandblasting of two, 6000 pound granite monoliths. The process was intuitive, responding to the shapes naturally occurring in the stone. Through this intuitive design process, vague figures emerged from the facets of the stones. Attention was paid to maintain the natural surface of the stone in contrast to the highly polished areas later carved and filled with native animal and plant life.
These Monoliths are located at 5605 W. 36th Street St. Louis Park, MN 55426
